The new Victorian Cricket and Community Centre delivers new capacity for major events and participation

SMC Strategies was engaged by the State’s peak cricket body to steer and navigate the most ambitious, complex and challenging project it had ever embarked upon. This involved deep engagement with a multiplicity of stakeholders and the implementation of long-term partnership development and advocacy strategies. SMC’s work directly resulted in a $25 million investment by State Government.

SMC was also instrumental in achieving a commitment of $10 million to the project by the previous Federal Government.

SMC also had key responsibility for originating and implementing Common Ground, the Victorian cricket facilities plan. This resulted in an unprecedented investment of $10 million by State Government over four years in grassroots cricket and community projects.

The VCCC was completed and opened in March 2018.
