The Geelong Waterfront Safe Harbour Precinct project includes the new Victorian Sailing School

SMC Strategies was initially engaged by City of Greater Geelong (CoGG) in 2015 to develop the Business Case and Concept Plans for the Geelong Waterfront Safe Harbour Precinct project.

The project will result in a complete transformation of a key section of the Geelong Waterfront, creating new community amenity and visitor attraction.

Royal Geelong Yacht Club engaged SMC Strategies to undertake the strategic project partnership development, funding strategy and advocacy for the project, working with all tiers of government and project stakeholders.

This has now directly resulted in a $7.5 million commitment by the Victorian Government, $5.5 million by the Federal Government and $3 million by CoGG to the project.

Construction is planned to commence in 2019.
